Jack Ting-Ju Chiang is a Professor of Management at the Guanghua School of Management, Peking University. Additionally, he serves as the Faculty Director of the Cornell-Peking MHH/MBA Program and the Guanghua Global MBA Program. He received his Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior at the Michael G. Foster School of Business, University of Washington and his Master and Bachelor Degrees in Psychology at National Taiwan University. Jack's work focuses on leadership and teams in the organizations. He is particularly interested in topics regarding dark-side of leadership, team dynamics, and paternalistic leadership. He has work published on Journal of Applied Psychology, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, Personnel Psychology, Journal of Management, Human Relations, Journal of Occupational and Organizational Psychology, Asia Pacific Journal of Management, etc. He was honored with the Scholarly Impact Award from the Journal of Management and had several papers recognized by the Academy of Management. Notably, his paper was bestowed the Best Paper Award from its Conflict Management Division in 2023. He also serves as a Senior Editor at Management and Organization Review and has received Best Senior Editor Award in 2023 and 2024.
Jack currently teaches MBA, Ph.D., and Executive Education courses at the Peking University. Before his appointment at the Peking University, he taught undergraduate and MBA courses at the University of Washington. He has won two star teacher awards at the University of Washington. His teaching expertise includes leadership, organizational behavior, and human resource management.
In addition to his research and teaching experience, Jack served as a board director at the ABL Life Insurance Co. in South Korea. He had years of industry experience on talent management and leadership development. He also provided consulting experiences for many worldwide famous companies such as WeWork China, Applied Materials, Japan Airlines, etc.
